Recovinyl-RecoTrace

Almaland works for the development of PVC waste recycling. We conduct audits of PVC recyclers developing their installations throughout the EU.

Recovinyl

Recovinyl is the organization that supports the activity and brings together PVC recyclers from all over Europe.

RecoTrace

RecoTrace is an advanced data collection system for monitoring and tracing PVC circulation in Europe.

Recovinyl was established in 2003 under the VinylPlus® program to help further develop and encourage PVC recycling in Europe. Currently, Recovinyl continues to monitor and verify the recycling of PVC waste and the demand for PVC recyclate. Recovinyl is used to record the amount of PVC recycled in Europe and is the largest contributor to the VinylPlus® recycling targets.

In response to the European Commission’s call for the entire plastics industry to increase recycling, VinylPlus has committed to recycling at least 900,000 tonnes of PVC per year by 2025. RecoTrace will be used to meet this commitment.

You can visit the Recovinyl website for more information.

To enhance traceability and transparency in recycled plastics along the entire plastics value chain, RecoTrace has been developed to meet the advancing data collection requirements in line with the ambition of the Circular Plastics Alliance and EU policy initiatives to encourage recovery, recycling and reusing of plastics.

The Circular Plastics Alliance (CPA) was launched in 2018 by the European Commission as a voluntary platform for industry to substantially increase the use of recycled plastics in new products. The specific aim of the CPA is to work together to collectively achieve at least 10 million tonnes of recycled plastics materials in products and packaging placed on the European market each year by 2025. More than 240 organisations and companies covering the full plastics value chain, including research organisations, producers, raw material suppliers, recyclers, standardisation bodies and public authorities have signed up to the CPA and are committed to working together to achieve this goal.
